Reception Staff
  Mona - Reception


Mona is a native Nevadan and a graduate of Sparks High School.  She has been with the practice for 30 + years, making her a true veteran in this field. Mona enjoys spending her off-time at home with her daughter, Erin, and her husband, Paul.

  Sarena - Reception Supervisor

Before Sarena moved to Reno she never pictured herself working at an animal hospital. After becoming a part of the CAH family in April of 2005, she can't imagine doing anything else.
Sarena is the proud mother of an incredible family: her son Logan, her dog Dash, and her two cats, JackJack and Violet.
When Sarena is not caring for her family or managing reception at CAH she enjoys playing pool, cooking, and being outdoors.

  Liz - Reception

Liz graduated from UNR with a degree in communications and journalism. She has two dogs; a Border Collie named Sassy and a Lab/Shepherd mix named Nick. They both live on a beautiful farm in Tennessee with her parents and have 200 acres to run around on which makes them very happy dogs. When she isn't going working, Liz enjoys watching TV and mini golfing.

Technical Team
  Chuck - Licensed Technician (LVT)

Since graduating from Churchill County High School, Chuck now attends the University of Nevada, Reno. He is majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science. Chuck has been working in his fields of interest, Large and Small Animal Medicine, for 7 years.

His professional goals are to become an equine surgeon and to open his own practice. If Chuck has any spare time he likes to hunt, fish, team rope, work out, or just be with family and friends. What he loves to do most is spend time with his girlfriend, Shannon.

  Chrissy - Treatment


Chrissy grew up in a small town not far from Reno. She and her family had horses, cattle, and dairy goats.  After high school she moved to Oceanside, California, for one year where she worked as a trail guide and horse trainer. After that Chrissy moved back to Reno and worked with primates for four years. She worked in the research field with Macaques and did a lot of behavioral work. Chrissy has a younger sister and two wonderful dogs, Trevor and Sam. She also has a super-cute kitty named Jinx (A.K.A. "Kitty!").

  Tiffany - Treatment


Tiffany graduated from high school in Las Vegas and attended Vo-Tech in Henderson, NV, studying Health Occupations. She currently is attending Truckee Meadows Community College and UNR with emphasis on nursing. Before coming to Reno, Tiffany worked as a veterinary technician in Las Vegas. When she is not studying she likes to read, write stories and lyrics, experience new things, enjoy outdoor activities, and sing (when no one is looking). Her family consists of Mom, Dad, and a sister in Vegas. She has a four-legged little brother named Lucky (a German Shepherd).

  Shauna - Treatment

Shauna moved to Reno about three years ago from a small town called Pacifica in California . She graduated from Terra Nova High School and is now attending Truckee Meadows C community College . She is taking courses in Criminal Justice and plans to become an animal control officer. In her spare time she loves to ride her dirt bike, go to the lake, and work out. Shauna also loves spending time with her black Labrador, Lucky, and her two cats, Reno and Mini Me.

  Rachael - Lab / Inventory

Currently Rachel is finishing up her pre-requisites for the Dental Hygiene program at TMCC.  She has worked at casinos, restaurants, and other vet hospitals, but she thinks Community Animal Hospital has been fun and exciting, and she hopes to be a part of the team for a long time. She has a six year-old son named Skylar, who keeps her busy and happy every day. She loves to take her son and dog to the park and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Some of the outdoor things she enjoys are snowboarding, camping, rafting, and wakeboarding.

  Ray - Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)


Ray is currently enrolled at UNR pursuing a major in Animal Science and a minor in Vet Med and has worked as a veterinary assistant for seven years. He recently moved here from Las Vegas where he worked at Durango Animal Hospital.  He has also worked at animal hospitals in Temecula and Menifee, California , and one in Miami, Florida . He loves anything that has to do with the outdoors and any sports or activities that go along with it.

  Krystle - Veterinary Assistant

Krystle joined CAH in 2009 and has been a valuable team member since. She was born and raised in California and developed her love of animals through volunteering with a clinic in Elk Grove. She has been working as a veterinary assistant since the age of 18. Krystle and her husband, an attorney moved to Reno from Las Vegas. They have 2 dogs, Skittles and Hooch, a bird named Tony and Simon the cat. When not at work Kryslte and Wade like to hike, barbeque, and support the Reno Aces.

  Laura - Oral Health

 

Laura started in 2002 as a kennel attendant with another local hospital. When coming aboard in 2008 she had plenty of experience as a veterinary assistant. Laura currently works in our oral health department assuring that Dr. Koehm's patients receive the best care possible. When not working at CAH, Laura enjoys roller derby and is currently the VP of the Reno Roller Girls.
